The Stonehaven rocky soap-dish is inspired by textures and shapes found on Stonehaven beach in Aberdeenshire. I have created moulds from the rock used and this enables me to retain the organic shape and texture of the rock. One option is made with a white stoneware clay with celedon green glaze inside and out and the other option is a speckled stoneware clay, glazed in a matte white colour. Both colours can be seen in the images above.

There is one drainage hole and on the underside of the dish a stamp shows "Stonehaven - Aberdeenshire" as with all my collection pieces.

When recieving your soap-dish you will get a postcard explaining a little about my process and the place inspired. A very tactile and natural piece for your home inspired directly from the Scottish coast. The perfect gift or will make for a one of a kind piece in your kitchen or bathroom. Each piece can differ slightly in glaze markings and shape, no two are exactly the same. Why not add on a handmade bar of soap by Dimwicks of Ayrshire? Check out the shop page.
